BERNADETHA LUHASILE

School Director

Message from the director

Opening a new school is a huge challenge. It is complicated under the best of circumstances. It involves business plans, construction, financing, logistics, innovative business ideas and marketing; many tasks outside the experience of even veteran educators.

After realizing that the demand of English Medium Primary Schools was high, my beloved husband Mr. John Missana Makene and I had a thought of opening the best school in Mwanza. In 1990 the idea was developed and hence started conducting a market survey as the most ideal way to find out how feasible is to start a school in a specific area.  It was important to know the need of the society for a school in that area and where people want to put their children.

We had to set up a society and trust as the primary step to get through the registration process. It wasn’t an easy task, in 2003 regardless of many challenges the school was officially registered and started its operations.

Choosing Nyakato area was the ideal location for an English Medium school we believed that we would beat high competitions from other schools. It seemed to be a rural place, this was an opportunity to us because there were few competitions which favoured a startup of a school and earn a good return on investment.

Starting your school will not only allow you to get involved with a business trend that is headed in the right direction but will also give you the chance to make a difference in the lives of children every day.

Mzigu schools has been doing the best day by day since its operations commenced in 2003. Through hard working, committed team work, integrity and accountability has contributed much to our progress.

Welcome one, welcome all.

Those who take a keen interest in your personal development; meet with you regularly; keep their door open; walk the floor routinely and delegate appropriately.
